I recently found a website to discover abandoned domain names (via HN), and was quite excited to find out that both firingneuron.com and thefiringneuron.com had recently become available. To any neuroscientist, the significance of this name is abundantly clear. I quickly grabbed both these domains, with the former set up to redirect to the latter. I intend to use thefiringneuron.com, i.e., this blog to discuss topics of interest to me: recent papers, product reviews, share R code, describe travels, and any other topic that may be of interest. In other words, a simple changelog for my life. In some ways, this blog is timely – there is now a light at the end of the COVID-19 pandemic tunnel with the recent vaccine approvals, and my professional life is about to change in a significant way as I move away from academia to the biotech world.
